Spring Farm Tours 2010
Spring is an exciting time of year to be on the farm. The plow is turning the soil to prepare the fields for planting and the orchards are full of spring blossoms waiting for the bees to pollinate them. The farm is a wonderful classroom in the spring. We invite you join us for the experience.

Below you will find a chart of Farm tours and dates that they are available. Further down the page is the explanation of each tour.

Costs:
  • $9.50 per person for the regular tour
  • $11.50 per person for the Deluxe Tour
  • $6.00 Discovery Barnyard package per person
  • $2.50 Discovery Barnyard upgrade per person
  • There is a minimum of 15 people to make a reservation
  • One free person per 15 paid


All tours include use of our picnic area, animal feeding and play time in the Animal Farm, coloring sheets and teacher information. There is also a brand new restroom facility for group use. The Discovery Barnyard is not included in regular or deluxe tours. It can be added to these tours for an upgrade charge of $2.50 per person.

Egg Hunt Hayrides - March 19th to April 3th
Our season begins with the ever popular Egg Hunt Hayride. The trip includes a hayride to the egg field where we greet the children and give them very basic instructions on hunting for those special eggs. All of the children hunt for 5 colored eggs. This is not a contest but an enjoyable event. Once they've gathered their eggs they sort them by color and are given a goodie bag full of treats. Back on the hayride they go to visit with none other than Peter Rabbit! He awaits the children to hear of their exciting adventure and loves having his picture taken with them.

Discovery Barnyard Package - March 19th to Aug. 31st

We have added a field trip that might help  in times when funding is tight and budgets are getting cut. We have calling it the Discovery Farm Package. This is a more economical package that will include a visit to the Animal Farm and obstacle course, use of our Picnic area and play time in the Discovery Barnyard. It will not include a hayride or any picking. Our goal is to reduce your cost without affecting the experience too much.

Discovery Barnyard upgrade
The Discovery Barnyard is not included in regular or deluxe tours. It can be added to these tours for an upgrade charge of $2.50 per person.

Green House Farm Tour - April 5th to June 13th
The spring season continues with our Greenhouse Farm Tours. This trip was developed to teach children how plants grow, how to care for them and how to appreciate farming. This farm lesson is conducted in our greenhouse using soil boxes and a variety of seeds the children can plant. Each child takes home his/her own garden to watch grow. We love to see future farmers at work! This trip also includes a Farm tour and explanation of what is going on at the farm in the spring. The wagons will also make a stop at the spinach, radish or lettuce field. Availability of these crops is dependent on the weather and the time of your reservation.

Strawberry Picking Farm Tour - May 22nd to June 13th
Our spring season concludes with our mouth watering strawberry picking tour. This trip includes a hayride to the strawberry fields where the children pick a pint of berries and adults pick a quart.

Deluxe Strawberry Picking Greenhouse Tour - May 22nd to June13th
For a truly deluxe experience your group can combine strawberry picking with the Greenhouse tour. This tour will include a seed planting lesson in the greenhouse a Farm Tour Hayride to pick a pint of strawberries.

The children will get the full farm experience. From planting and growing seeds to harvesting and taking home our sweet strawberries.
